Cottage 'Swallow Cottage', Caupenne d'Armagnac (9640P2U1)
The cottage is situated in the grounds of the large country house which is used for chambre d' hôtes but the cottage is totally independent from the house in a courtyard setting.
DESCRIPTION
Living area: spacious inviting area with plenty of comfortable seating, wood burning fire - free wood for those cooler evenings - central heating, tv, dvd and a selection of films and a hi fi system.
Kitchen/ diner: attractive hand-built kitchen with central table, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge- freezer, microwave, coffe maker and fully equipped cuboards.
LOBBY AREA: Double patio doors leading to a large south- facing terrace with covered BBQ area for dining out whilst watching the sunset in the distance over the Armagnac valley; there is plenty of lawned area at the back of the cottage to give you the feeling of open space.
SHOWER ROOM:
Good sized shower room with WC, and heated towel rail.
DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM
Double bed, hand painted furniture , colombage walls.
The open staircase in the lounge takes you up to the first floor which has two double or twin rooms; both have velux windows for those hot summer evenings. One of the bedrooms benefits from an en-suite with WC, ,basin and bath with shower head attachment.
All towels and bedding are provided for your stay but we ask you to bring your own towels for the swimming pool.
The cottage is fully centrally heated with double glazing and wood burning fire ( wood provided) which makes this the perfect choice in or out of season.
Situated 5 kms from Nogaro which is a busy working town with all amenities, bars, cafés, supermarkets and pharmacies . At the edge of the town is the well-renouned Paul Armagnac circuit, where various race meetings are held throughout the year, including trucks, bikes, cars and vintage cars - it is also due to become a testing area for F1 cars. Next to the Circuit is a small airport for small planes, gliders, helicopter rides - individual trips for flights over the mountains can be organised.
TRAVEL: we are situated 2 hours from the mountains, the Spanish borders, and 1-30 from the silver coast of the atlantic ocean.

the cottage is situated in 10 acres of gardens and parkland and unique bamboo forest which reaches up to 30 m high; there are plenty of private areas and terracing
SWIMMING POOL
Large 12x8 m overflowing pool . The pool is set to take advantage of the sun and the stunning views. there are plenty of areas around the pool with sunloungers, parasols, tables and chairs to relax on and a large shaded pool house to cool down under with fridge facilities to keep your drinks cool.
MORE: Another benefit of the cottage is the use of the communal games room and terrace; this room is full of many interesting items dating back some hundred years which were all collected from around the area creating a small museum- like feel. Full size pool table darts cd player and fridge facilities.
